Search “Tailor Book app” on the Play Store and four different apps come back, from four different makers. Here is which is which.
There Is No Single “Tailor Book” App
This is the first thing to know, and almost nothing written about the name says it. On Google Play, read on 8 September 2026, at least four separate apps go by Tailor Book. They are built by unrelated developers, they do different amounts, and their ratings are nothing like each other.
So a tailor told “use Tailor Book, it is good” and a tailor who installs the first result may well end up with two different products. Check the developer name before you install — it is the only thing that tells them apart on the listing.

Read the first two rows together, because that is the whole point. The most installed one is the worst rated. Five times the downloads of the next, less than a quarter of the reviews, and 3.2 stars against 4.9. Downloads measure how easy an app is to find. Ratings measure what happened after.
None of this makes any of them bad. It means the name alone tells you nothing, and the thing to compare is the developer, the rating and whether it carries ads.
What This Class of App Does Well
All four are diary-shaped: customers, measurements, orders, a bill. For a single tailor who wants the paper book on a phone and nothing more, that is genuinely enough, and it is free or nearly free.
- Measurements that can be found by name instead of by flipping pages.
- An order list with a delivery date against each one.
- A bill that can be sent on WhatsApp rather than written out.
- Nothing to learn beyond what a diary already taught you.
If your shop stops there, stop there. Paying for more than you use is not an upgrade.
Where the Diary Shape Runs Out
Four moments, and they arrive in this order in most shops:
- The balance nobody wrote down. An advance taken at the counter and a balance due on delivery are two numbers that have to survive a fortnight. A diary app records the order; it rarely chases the money.
- The karigar’s pay. Once work is handed to two or three people on a mix of piece rate and daily wage, the sum at month end stops being something you can do from memory.
- The second person at the counter. Phone-only apps hold the records on one phone. The day you are not in the shop, the shop cannot answer.
- The lost phone. The question worth asking any of these four before you enter six months of customers: where do the records live, and can you get them out.

- Check whether it carries ads. On a counter app that customers can see, that matters more than it sounds.
- Enter five real customers before you enter five hundred.
